The full story
Elektra Natchios died at the end of Daredevil. Stick, a blind master of martial arts, brought her back and trained her in kimagure, an art that lets its students see what's coming and even raise the dead. He threw her out when she couldn't let go of her rage, or of the memory of her mother's killer. She became an assassin for hire.
Her agent, McCabe, gets an unusually large offer: she has to spend a few days in a rented house on an island before she's told who the targets are. In that time she gets to know her neighbours, Mark Miller and his teenage daughter Abby, and then finds out they're the targets. She walks away from the job, then comes back in time to save them from assassins sent by the Hand, a criminal order of ninja.
The Hand's master, Roshi, sends his son Kirigi and a squad of assassins with uncanny powers, Typhoid, Stone, Kinkou and Tattoo, to bring Abby back. McCabe dies buying them time, and Typhoid's poisoned kiss nearly kills Elektra before Stick and his own order, the Chaste, save her. Stick explains that Abby is the Treasure, a martial arts prodigy both orders want, as Elektra once was, and the fight over her is how Elektra's mother died. Elektra also works out that Stick ordered the hit on the Millers himself, to see whether she would spare them.
Elektra challenges Kirigi to fight for Abby at her childhood home, and realizes he's the one who killed her mother. He beats her the first time. Tattoo's snakes catch Abby, and Elektra kills Tattoo, then Kirigi. Typhoid poisons Abby and kills her before Elektra can kill Typhoid with a sai. Finally calm, Elektra uses kimagure to bring Abby back. She leaves Mark and Abby to a normal life, and bows to Stick, who tells her she didn't turn out so bad.
