The full story
Blade finds Whistler in Prague. He didn't die: Deacon Frost's men turned him, and the vampires have kept him prisoner for two years. Blade cures him and brings him back to the hideout, where Whistler meets Blade's new armorer, Scud.
Something new is spreading through the vampire world. The Reapers feed on vampires and humans alike, and their bite turns either kind into one of them. The first carrier is Jared Nomak. The vampire overlord Eli Damaskinos sends his daughter Nyssa and his lieutenant Asad to ask Blade for a truce, and Blade agrees to lead the Bloodpack, an elite squad of vampires originally put together to hunt him. One of them, Reinhardt, makes it plain he'd rather kill Blade, so Blade plants a bomb on the back of his head.
The Reapers are immune to almost everything but sunlight, and their hearts are cased in bone. Scud and Whistler arm the team with ultraviolet weapons and build a UV bomb for the Reaper nest in the sewers. The raid destroys the nest and most of the Bloodpack, one of whom has been hiding a bite, and Blade lets the wounded Nyssa drink his blood to keep her alive.
Then Damaskinos takes Blade prisoner and tells the truth: the Reapers are his attempt to engineer a vampire with no weaknesses, Nomak is his own son, and he wants Blade's blood to finish the job. Scud turns out to be Damaskinos's familiar, and Blade, who had suspected him, kills him. Whistler frees Blade, who gets his strength back in Damaskinos's blood pool and kills Reinhardt. Nyssa, sickened by her father, leaves him to Nomak, who kills him and then bites her. Blade stabs Nomak through his armored heart, and Nomak finishes himself with Blade's sword. At Nyssa's request, Blade carries her out into the sunrise and holds her as she dies.
