The full story
After Iron Man 3, Trevor Slattery is serving his sentence in Seagate Prison and loving it. He has a personal "butler", Herman, and a fan club of inmates who protect him, while fellow inmate Justin Hammer looks on and wonders what makes him so special.
Slattery has been giving interviews to Jackson Norriss, a documentary maker chronicling the Mandarin affair. Norriss walks him through his life story, from his first casting as a child to the failed CBS pilot Caged Heat, then tells him his performance has angered some people, including the Ten Rings, a real terrorist organization Slattery didn't know existed.
Norriss tells him the history of the Ten Rings, then reveals that he is one of them. He shoots the guards and Herman, and tells Slattery the real reason for the interview: he's breaking him out so he can meet the Ten Rings' real leader. Slattery still has no idea how much trouble he's in.
