Sebastian Shaw is a powerful mutant able to absorb kinetic energy and convert it into his own strength, making him nearly impossible to hurt the harder he is struck. As the leader of the Hellfire Club, he manipulated both American and Soviet governments toward nuclear war during the Cold War, believing the ensuing devastation would leave mutants as the dominant species, before being stopped by Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr.
