May Parker is Peter Parker's aunt and, following the deaths of his parents and his Uncle Ben, his guardian. She learns Peter's secret identity as Spider-Man from Mysterio's doctored video and, rather than reacting with alarm, throws herself into helping him, working alongside Doctor Strange to shelter and attempt to cure the multiversal visitors drawn to their world. She is killed by the Green Goblin during the botched cure, and her dying words to Peter — that with great power must also come great responsibility — become the principle he organizes the rest of his fight around.
